It’s gut check time today for Maryland. “I thought we had a good week of practice,” Friedgen said. “Right now we need to get a win. It would be very important for us. Obviously, I was hoping we would win last week so these guys start gaining some confidence. I still think we’ve played three good teams. Whatever the perception might be, Look for Adrian Cannon and DaRel Scott to have big games today.

Some observations on a crushing Defeat

Torrey Smith is playing his way to the next level. Today he had 5 receptions for 165 yds and 2 TDs and 287 all purpose yards.

Chris Turner was 19-30 for 288 yds and 2 TDs–again playing well

2 fumbles in the 1st quarter led to 2 TDs and was really the reason the Terps lost

4th and 3 with 1 minute left. Here’s my take. If you kick the FG and its good, … Read More »

Yes the defense has been very suspect the first 2 weeks, but despite the lack of an experienced offensive line, the offense has moved the ball. Four trips to the red aone last week, 4 touchdowns. This will be Pinegar’s 2nd week starting at left tackle. Turner has been playing well and I can’t see MTSU stopping the Terps.

The Terps will face their 2nd high powered running QB on Saturday when Dwight Dasher takes the field as Mid Tenn State’s QB. Coach was also impressed with Chris Turner’s new found toughness as a sometimes rushing signal caller. Check out the article from Jeff Baxter in today’s Sun.

In a crushing blow to the defense, Captain Nolan Carroll suffered a fractured tibia and will be lost for the season. Coach Friedgen commented on the team defense: “After watching the game film, Friedgen said poor tackling was “very much so” the biggest problem. “We need to tackle in space better than what we did. Some people tackled very well, I thought Adrian Moten tackled extremely well and so did Wujciak. He made some big tackles in the game. But I … Read More »

Whether you lose by 39 or 3 at the end of the day you are 0-1. No need to panic, especially becaue the ACC has proven itself to be so weak.

Da”Rel Scott amassed 90 yards including a 39 yard romp for a TD.

Overall I though QB1 (Turner) had a decent game.He was 17-30 with no ints.

What was so frustrating was all the early penalties. The formation call which reversed a touchdown  by the Ravens, was the back … Read More »

So much for the script. Conservative first play leads to unsucessful first series. Cal goes 3 and out. Nice return by Kenny Tate Terps have the ball again. Let’s see if we open it up. I notice Turner rolled out on first attempt.
