Well I called this one right, Lakers in 5 and game 5 was never in doubt after the 1st quarter. Kobe just weaved the game throughout the entire team and was truly deserving of the Playoff MVP award he won. This is the 10th Title for Phil Jackson placing him one ahead of the late Red Auerbach. Derek Fisher show signs of “Big Shot Bob Horry” with 2 monster 3s down the stretch as the Lakers struggled to overcome a terrific defensive performance from Dwight Howard. Superman finished the game with 21 rebounds and 9 blocked shots, but missed 2 crucial free throws , either one of which would have clinched the game. The NBA Championship is usually decided in game 4. Why? One team is usually up 2-1 and one more win just about wraps up the title. LA WILL WIN TONIGHT. I am almost positive. As I predicted, Orlando got its win last night but had to shoot 62.5% from the field to do so. Kobe missed 5 free throws and several key shots down the wire to breathe life into Orlando. Game 6 is Thursday at 9PM.
The energy level will be off the charts tonight and Dwight Howard will lead the way for Orlando tonight. Superman will get the calls finish his dunks and lead the Magic to its only win of the series. I said the other day that Carmelo is beginning to face being worn out at the end of games. Wednesday night was no exception. The Nuggets looked frozen in time for the first 2 minutes of the 4th quarter and totally threw away game 5 to the Lakers. Early in the first half, Carmelo was being shut down and the Nuggets were getting blown away by theLakers, when Linas Kleiza was inserted into the lineup. He nailed 3 threes and brought Denver back into the game. Carmelo Anthony again was superb scoring 34 and adding a tremendous physical presence to the Denver lineup. Next game Saturday Night at 8:30 from Denver.
