If our 3 year 45 million dollar isnt good enough, test the waters=== That was what Derek Jeter Captain of the Yankees was told. The Boss would be turning in his grave.
I was a little under the weather toda so I stayed home from work and watched the O’s game against NY —for about 50 minutes which were unbearable. On top of the fact there are so many dead outs in the lineup, the lack of timely hitting is killing the team.

-Obviously the Phillies needed to win, and they did off a rested Cliff Lee. This was the easy part of the uphill battle as they return to Yankee Stadium down three games to two to New York.
–Player of the Game: Chase Utley. Utley’s bat has been big in the Phillies two wins, getting two home runs in each. His two dingers with four RBIs got them the lead and provided the eventual game winner. Bruce—I could mke a strong … Read More »
Thoughts on Game 3- Fear the Yankee offense
If Game 3 proved anything, it is that you need to be on your game all nine innings to defeat the Yankees lineup. The Phillies looked like they had control, a three-run lead including Andy Pettitte walking in a run and Cole Hamels going three-hitless innings, but the Yankee lineup blasted their way to eight runs in five innings to defeat the Phillies. This is one of those games that the losing … Read More »
This is a great matchup between two very solid teams that have the ability to win big. It starts on Wednesday, and here are my thoughts on the advantages:
Hitting-
The Phillies have a solid combination of power and speed. Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, and Jayson Werth are a powerful 3-4-5 in the lineup that can all hit the long ball well. Jimmy Rollins and Shane Victorino are a good 1-2 on the basepaths, if not with their average. The … Read More »
2009 World Series—–The 105th edition of Major League Baseball’s Fall/Winter Classic, The World Series, begins Wednesday at the new Yankee Stadium. The defending champions, the Philadelphia Phillies, tangle with the American league champions, the New York Yankees.
The outfields. Philly..Jason Werth, Raul Ibanez and Shane Victorino. All 3 hit well with Werth and Ibanez having good power. Ibanez is a … Read More »
Any day of the week , I would take George Sherrill over Jonathan Broxton. Torre must be asleep. Yes Sherrill did give up a 3 run dinger to Ibanez in Game 1 but when the chips were on the line Monday night, the ex Oriole struck out Ryan Howard with a tremendous mixture of pitches. Everytime I see this guy in Dodger Blue I get sick. First the O’s give Sherrill away for a Double AA 3rd baseman and then … Read More »
The Yankees will not have an easy time with the Angels–why—Vlad Guerrero. I still believe if the O’s could have closed the deal when Vladimir was a free agent, we would not be in the mess we find ourselves today. This guy is a pure winner. However, the Mercenaries are just too deep. There is not even close to a soft spot in the lineup. Over the course of a long series most pitching staffs succumb to the might of … Read More »
What a pathetic mismatch this is–Of course when the Yanks win and I do believe nothing is stopping them it’s always because of Jeter, not the mercenaries.
The Orioles continue to sink deeper into last place as the abysmal road show continues. Brian Roberts and Markakis each had 3 hits last night in a losing cause. Jim Palmer commented that SP Hill had absolutely nothing on his ball and basically was just throwing and hoping. He can not continue to start. Again the highlight of the game was a tremendous throw from Markakis to Weiters nailing Jeter at home.
