Well I called this one right, Lakers in 5 and game 5 was never in doubt after the 1st quarter. Kobe just weaved the game throughout the entire team and was truly deserving of the Playoff MVP award he won. This is the 10th Title for Phil Jackson placing him one ahead of the late Red Auerbach. As I predicted, Orlando got its win last night but had to shoot 62.5% from the field to do so. Kobe missed 5 free throws and several key shots down the wire to breathe life into Orlando. Game 6 is Thursday at 9PM.

In the game about to start in a few minutes, the Magic must win tonight to have any kind of chance against LA. I have never liked the NBA Finals 2-3-2 format. If the Lakers win again all they have to do is win1 in Orlando to have 2 shots to win at home for the title. The Magic just do not have the resources to stop #24. I don’t know what game Stan Van Gundy was watching but one on one defense against Kobe just isn’t going to work. #24 wound up with 40 points on 16-34 shooting and Superman Dwight Howard was held to 1-6 from the field. I was thinking Lakers in 6 but after this game make that 5 games. Phil Jackson is 43-0 in NBA series when his team wins game 1.
The Magic is a much better and deeper team with its PG in the lineup. He seems to be making progress but this could just be a Van Gundy ploy to disrupt the Lakers preparation for the title series. Dwight Howard to be on a mission but Kobe is Kobe and the Lakers win easily in 6. The Lakers will need to be better guarding the 3, therefore I doubt we will see extensive doubleteaming of Superman.
Stan Van Gundy demanded that Dwight Howard got the ball in Overtime last night and he reponded with a 10 point explosion. LeBron is just playing too many minutes with way too much demand on him.
