My limitations in selecting in the draft are that I have not seen everyone at length. This I know about John henson–he’s not Anthony Davis but he is an excellent shot blocker. Obviously, he needs to out on some muscle but he has 3 solid years of experience an at least you know what you are getting. Here is NBS draft.net analysis.

After 2 seasons being an impact player for UNC with his length and athleticism, Henson declared after improving … Read More »

The Washington Post is reporting that former Montrose Christian shooting guard Terrence Ross, who recently broke off his oral commitment to Maryland, will finish his senior season at Westwind Academy in Phoenix, the prep school’s boys’ basketball coach confirmed Friday.  Ross, rated the No. 43 overall prospect in the Class of 2010 by Rivals.com, withdrew from Montrose Christian … Read More »

The mystery that surrounds Terrence Ross leaving Montrose Christian remains. It’s impossible to be going to a better team. There is probably no better high school coach in the country. The season is 5 or 6 weeks away from completion. The Washington Post reported on Vetter’s comments today: “I’m not going to talk about it other than to say that … Read More »

Ever since signing day passed and Ross didn’t pull the trigger for the Terps, this story has gotten strange. Now Ross is reported by the Washington Post to be leaving Stu Vetter and Montrose almost immediately in the middle of the season. Where will this one play out?

Though Stu Vetter has never steered a player anywhere and he sure has recruited some of the best players in the country to Montrose Christian (Kevin Durant, Greivis, Isiah Armwood, Linus Klsiza, M Yarou, and on and on), when he says Maryland is still in the lead for Ross I believe him. Yes he was upset that Ross backed off his verbal committment. Also, Ross can make no visits during the season as this is one of Vetter’s rules. Just … Read More »

Stu Vetter expanded on his opinion of the future of Decommit Terrence Ross in Matt Bracken’s sunpapers blog:

Montrose Christian basketball coach Stu Vetter confirmed today that senior shooting guard Terrence Rosswithdrew his commitment to Maryland “within the week.” “He has reopened his recruitment,” Vetter said. “He’s going to reopen it for a limited number of schools — no more than four or five. Maryland is still very strong in the picture. He just felt that he wanted to open … Read More »

I had a chance to speak with Montrose Coach Stu Vetter before the game tonight and yes he acknowledged the fact that Terrence Ross had reopened his recruiting process. Coach Vetter said there were 4 Eastern schools, including Maryland, in the hunt. The other 3 schools were certainly basketball powers according to the coach. Coach Vetter does not allow visits during the season, so most certainly a decision would most likely be put off until the spring.

Let me start by saying at this point there is no official word from anyone. But speculation in the Washington Post (naturally), Rivals.com and even the terrapintimes.com, appears to be declaring that Ross is being wooed by other schools but Maryland is still deep in the mix. This is all speculation–if i have a chance to speak with Stu Vetter, Ross’ coach at Montrose, I will report later tonight. Stay tuned!!!!!!

With Terrence Ross at #39, Mychal Parker at # 42 and Terrell Stoglin at #88, the Terrapins certainly have a super 2010 Class. Add Ashton Pankey in the mix and that’s why hope springs eternal for 2010. Of course the ranking of Terrence Ross at 39 is a joke.  This kid is the real deal. Check out the top 100 at ESPNU.
