University of Maryland men’s basketball head coach Gary Williams released the following comment on the dismissal of misdemeanor assault charges against Jordan Williams in his hometown of Torrington, Conn.:

“We’re happy this has been resolved. Jordan is an outstanding person and a student-athlete who is a great representative of our basketball team.”

#22 Women’s Soccer defeated Duke on Sunday 4-0 moving its record to 9-2.

The #2 Men’s Soccer team suffered another 2-0 shutout to Duke, suffering it’s 3rd loss of the season all nby the same score. The absence of Casey Townsend Saturday certainly is hurting Maryland’s finishing ability.

At the Orioles final game on Sunday, the final game of the 4-game winning streak, something interesting happened with Melvin Mora. During the fifth inning with the bases loaded and 2 out and the Orioles down 3-2, Dave Trembley pinch hit for Melvin Mora, putting in Justin Turner. Turner would get a two-run single, but the move was about Mora.
