Some observations on Sunday’s great victory:
There are obviously some secondary problems on this team or Phil Rivers just was incredible.
Hauschka’s kickoffs are superb.
Is it me or is Willis outplaying Ray Rice?
How in the world could Mark Clayton drop that pass in the 4th quarter.
On McGahee’s 2nd TD run Jared Gaither flattened his man like a pancake.
Look out for the Jets–Rex Ryan has really motivated that team.
Flacco was great—-again!!!
Is it me or does … Read More »
Is the theory give the QB time and he will find somone open? In a stellar performance , #5 was 26-43 –3TDS, 307 yards, 2 clutch drives and generally had his way. The closeness of the game belies the domination from the Ravens. Two fluke tds kept a game KC team aroung. IAre the Ravens Super Bowl Contenders—way too early to tell dspite all the hoopla. Some observations:
Great explosive crowd
Ray Rice seems to get better every game.
The Titans gave Ben unlimited time to pass and wound up on the losing end of a 13-10 overtime non thriller. No one will do the Ravens dirty work for them. We must take the Steelers down ourselves. hines Ward almost blew the game for Pitt with a 4th quarter fumble.
I almost choked on my egg roll last night. I was watching an ESPN NFL preview show and actually heard Chris Mortensen, reknown NFL expert actually buck the Steeler bandwagon and select the Ravens to go to the promise land.
Everyone has seen the famous David Tyree Super Bowl catch in 2008. Truly one of the greatest catches of all time: catching the ball above your head against his helmet with Rodney Harrison trying to knock it out. The Giants released Tyree after this year’s preseason, and the Ravens have worked him out in their camp. Plus, Tyree has passed a … Read More »
I was talking with Gary Attman, a big time Maryland supporter and booster, last night when he brought up a great point to me. Ozzie took a lot of heat for passing on the likes of DHB, Crabtree, Hakeem Nicks, etc. Though the Ravens need a deep threat, Ozzie let all of these speedsters go and concentrated on the Offensive line. Exhibition season means very little but the quality of protection for #5 allowed him to destroy every defense he … Read More »
For years the Ravens offense consisted of field position and using #3 Matt Stover to nail any field goal inside 40 yards. Touchdowns have been brutal to come by. Finally, after Dilfer, Grbak, Boller, etc we finally have an offense led by #5 that can score. But lo and behold, there is no confidence in our FG kicker. Ozzie you have proven to be right in almost every move. But now lets admit we jettisoned Stover too quickly, and bring … Read More »
The Ravens offense has looked decent overall in the preseason, and they have one game left. Flacco has done well against first-team defenses, including a revenge seeking Jets defense and a Julius Peppers-led Carolina team. Joe the Quarterback is ready for the season, and there is no dispute that he is the starter. Which is why the Ravens should play him in one series or less in the final game against Atlanta.
Forget the final 17-13 score, the Ravens thoroughly dominated the Panthers tonight. Steve Smith was virtually shut out by ex-Terp Dominique Foxworth. #5 was 23-27 and 247 yards. Ozzie’s decision to go with added strength at the Oline is paying off as Flacco had all day to pass. Ray Rice turned in an excellent performance. I have a hunch that we haven’t seen the last of Matt Stover. Before I forget Todd Heap returned to the team after a 3 … Read More »
It looks much like the prospects for an extremely powerful Ravens team this year are surfacing. You could also see this 3 years ago to a degree with McNair and Co. , culminating with the 13/3 record. . That season of course was marred by the overly conservative game plan of the Billick offense in the semifinal conference game against Indy. You have to be impressed by what we see so far even though the preseason is a ridiculous joke … Read More »
