It’s an absolute miracle that Todd Heap did not suffer a crippling injury from the helmut to helmut hit delivered by Patriot defensive back, Brandon Meriweather. I’m talking about a life threatening injury. Steve Young said it correctly after the Monday night game—if it makes you cringe it must be too big of a hit. The decision will come down Wednesday.
Why is this game so crucial? The Terps stand at 4-2 right now. The early season key matchup against Navy barely went our way, but it did. For this season to be deemed successful the Terps need 7 wins. The road disasters must end. With 3 home games remaining against Wake, NC State, and FSU the Terps need 2 victories—clearly against Wake and NC State. That leaves 3 road games. Miami will be tough, Virginia lately seems to have our … Read More »
It took 3 years but the 2nd guessing was rampant on Monday. Flacco’s post game comments were not comforting!!!? Does the Raven hierarchy trust #5 to audible? Does it make sense to use Ray Rice 40 plays out of 69? On and On. Listen I was as upset as anyone with the conservative, lame play calling but John Harbaugh’s record stands above any conjecture. The Jets went into a shell against the Ravens in Week 1 and you saw the … Read More »

In addition to his supersonic speed and killer instinct, it turns out John Wall may also possess a photographic memory. So says Washington Wizards coach Flip Saunders. “He’s got an extremely high basketball IQ and it seems like he’s got a photographic memory,” Saunders said before Wall put up 19 points, six assists and five rebounds in the Wizards’ 92-90 loss to the Knicks Sunday night at Madison Square Garden. Asked if Wall’s ability to remember plays was unique among NBA … Read More »
The University of Maryland baseball team’s 2010 recruiting class has been ranked as the 25th best in the nation by Baseball America. Head coach Erik Bakich, recruiting coordinator Dan Burton and pitching coach Sean Kenny, who are entering their second season at Maryland, signed 22 newcomers to their first recruiting class. It is the first time Maryland’s recruiting class was ranked in Baseball America’s top 25.”It’s a tremendous boost for our program to be recognized by an organization … Read More »
What a great fit Lights out would be in a Ravens uni. The Ravens need that special sack master to go along with #55 and the ex Terrapin might just be the guy. “Ravens would have interest in Shawne Merriman w/2 big ifs–if he passes physical in next 24 hours, and if it’s a relatively low-money deal,” Peter King of SI.com.wrote.
It’s not like the Ravens didn’t have chance after chance to win this game. I for one still cannot understand why Ray Rice gets 28 runs, 8 receptions, and probably 3 more missed passes when the Offense has been so improved. By my count out 69 plays 39 had #27 written all over it. Now after a while doesn’t it become clear who you have to overplay. The offense though still too conservative for me, was somewhat effective in the … Read More »
Field Hockey–The #2 Lady Terps won twicw this weekend 7-5 at Old Dominion on Friday and 7-2 at home against Delaware on Sunday. Katie O’Donnell’s 2 goals on Sunday allowed her to pass Nicole Muracco as Maryland’s leading goal scorer in history.
#4 Men’s Soccer defeated Clemson 3-2 on Saturday night as Senior Jason Herrick headed home the game-winner at 75:32 off a perfectly served ball from Matt Kassel in the deep central midfield. Midfielders Sunny Jane and Paul Torres … Read More »
