Let’s see– the AL won again–4-3. Carl crawford was the game’s MVP. Mariano Rivera got the save. Ho hum another yawner. All Star games on any level stink. Last night’s was no exception. The NFL All Star game is probably the biggest joke of all as it is played after the Super Bowl and is virtually watched by no one. The NBA All Star game is a big joke as the word defense does not exist. The NHL All Star … Read More »
Arguably the best poker player in the world, Phil Ivey already winner of 2 events is currently 3rd of 29 players remaining from the 6500 that started in The WSOP Main Event.. The field will be cut down to the top 9 tomorrow and then the wait begins for the November Final table. If Ivey makes it to the elite 9, the final table will draw more interest then ever before.
Hey Bruce I stumbled across this while searching info. on Oriole Park that burned down July 3, 1944. The last and by far the best known Oriole Park prior to Camden Yards started in life as TERRAPIN PARK. It was the home field of the Baltimore Terrapins of the short-lived Federal League of 1914-1915. Some of the Fed facilities, such as the eventual Wrigley Field, were made of steel and concrete, but Terrapin Park was made of wood, a fact that would prove to be … Read More »
The following was pretty much what I sent to one of the individuals who tried to obtain an NFL expansion team for Baltimore years ago. Though some of the logistics are more difficult now because the football stadium has already been built I think there is still a lot of merit in this idea. Super Bowls, ACC Basketball tournaments, NCAA Final Four, Mega conventions. What do all these events have in common? They each bring in 10’s of thousands of people … Read More »
I often wonder why ESPN doesn’t televise the early teeoff times at the British Open. Tiger, Lee Westwood, and a Japanese teen sensation tee off at 4:09 EST. I had the privilege of going to Scotland one time and among the courses I played were Royal Troon and Turnberry. Royal troon was the more difficult of the 2 with many 200 plus carries that were not kind to my straying tee shots. Add 30 mile an hour winds and intermittent … Read More »
Well at long last Donald Sterling might have the necessary ingredients to make a run at the NBA title. I saw him at Kansas City and I was never more impressed with a player in the past decade then Blake Griffin. Monday night he was incredible in the NBA Summer league. With NBA commissioner David Stern sitting courtside at the Thomas & Mack Center, the 6-foot-10 Griffin went 6 of 6 from the field in the first half and didn’t miss … Read More »
The Ravens were caught off guard Monday night as Derrick Mason presumably retired atfter a 12 year NFL career. For the time being optimism has flown out the window. Joe Flacco needs a possession receiver and there is no better one then Derrick Mason. There is a SOS call going around for the Ravens to find a suitable replacement. This will not be an easy task, even for Ozzie. Could this be a posturing move for more money? The speculation … Read More »
From the faceoff blog of Edward Lee in the Sun:
It sounds like junior Brian Farrell will return to his previous position as the Terps’ long-stick midfielder after dabbling with a close defenseman’s position this past spring. Coach Dave Cottle didn’t go as far as to confirm that move, but his comments seem to suggest that sophomore Brett Schmidt, who moved from long-stick midfielder to close defenseman when Farrell was lost … Read More »
Terrapintimes.com reports that Gary, Chuck Driesell and Robert Ehsan are in South Carolina checking out the talent in the Peach Jam Basketball Festival. First and foremost on the watch list is Terrence Jones from the I-5 Club Team in Portland. A good friend of Maryland commit Terrence Ross, Jones’ 2010 stock is rising every day. Check out this youtube video on Jones:

Where do the O’s go from here. Speculation will run rampant over the next few weeks. Salazar, Pie, Sherrill, are they on the block? Will we soon see Tillman pitching? Will the lack of baseball fundamentals displayed by the team lead to the demise of Trembley? Will the O’s for once not play el foldo in August and September? Will the farce of competition continue and Roy Halladay become a Red Sox? Stay tuned!!!
