Former Maryland Golf coach, Fred Funk cruised to a 3 stroke victory with a closing round of 69. Even with a widening lead in the final found of the JELD-WEN Tradition, former Maryland golf coach Fred Funk pretended he was trailing. “We were going down the second fairway and my caddie, Mark (Long), said ‘Let’s say you are four behind,’” Funk said. “We were trying to make it as if we were behind all day. Don’t protect anything … Read More »

M&T Bank Stadium was a special place to be last but not for those watching the Ravens get demolished by the Vikings. Many stayed after the game to watch and cheer for Michael Phelps winning his 8th gold medal. That memory will last a lifetime. The memory of both Troy Smith and Kyle Boller failing miserably to move the offense  will last all the way through to Sept 7.  The Ravens find themselves no better off then last year, … Read More »

For weeks I have been hearing about the future Pistol Pete, Ricky Rubio 17 year old Spanish guard.  We shall see him this morning. If you are playing golf, TIVO this game. This one I believe will be a stern test for the USA because Spain has the guard play that might just frustrate Kobe and the guys. Jose Calderon has had his way in the NBA and will freelance today. Jason Kidd or Chris Paul must score from … Read More »

uncey Billups   As predicted right here, the USA received revenge last night as they walloped Greece. Here’s my concern about this team that I voiced on air tonight.  Was Jason KIdd the right choice, this game requires a shooting pt guard and Jason just cant fill the hole anymore.  Pull up shooters like Agent Zero, Chauncey Billups or Derek Fischer would have been much better choices.  Look for the opposition to totally disregard the point guard’s shooting on the USA. … Read More »

Setyour VCR, Tivo, etc for Thursday morning at 8AM when Kobe, Lebron and the guys attempt to settle unfinished business with Greece who last defeated and humiliated the USA sans Kobe.  If the USA can destroy this team they will and I add they should. This is a much stronger and dedicated team then lost to Greece.  The mere inference of the word loss will be the catalyst in a 20 point win.  Thursday night on Terp Talk we … Read More »

Former Terrapin star  Keli Smith scored in the 2nd half to lead a USA comeback vs Argentina which resulted in a 2-2 field hockey tie.  Michael Phelps eased to his 3rd gold in the 200 m freestyle, marking his 3rd gold medal of 2008.

Both Willis Mcgahee (knee) and Ed Reed (shoulder) should heal in time for the Ravens debut September 7 vs Cinci.  This is directly from Coach Harbaugh. The O’s pitching staff yielded 13 runs to … Read More »

Baltimore’s Michael Phelps continued his quest for 8 golds as he won #2 on Sunday.  Chris walters lost his magic for the O’s as they succumbed to Texas 15-7.  In the big event of the day Sergio failed again in his quest for his 1st major as Padraig Harrington nailed 2 medium range putts on 17 and 18 to wrap up the PGA, his 2nd straight major victory. Former British Open champ, Ben Curtis held on for 2nd place.  … Read More »

Freshman Davin Meggett scored twice in a intra squad scimmage as the defensive dominated the Offense on Saturday.  The 3 QBs played about equally well though Portis was intercepted by Nolan Carroll, who returned it 26 yds to the house.

Michael Phelps easily won the 400 medley, shattering the world record. This is the first of 8 events, the NBAC Baltimore native has entered.  Maryland soccer alums Maurice Edu and Robbie Rogers helped lead the U.S. Men’s Olympic … Read More »

Jeremy Guthrie shut down a great hitting Ranger team Friday night moving his record to 9-8.  Kevin Millar socked 2 HRs as the O’s ravaged the Texas pitching staff before 34,000.  Troy Smith gets the starting nod next Saturday night vs the Vikings at M&T. Perhaps Coach Harbaugh was effected by Kyle’s turnovers.

Freshman Kenny Tate, who was moved early in the week to strong safety more then held his own in the Oklahoma drills at Maryland’s 5th … Read More »

Passion, hard hitting, and conditioning are 3 plus grades for new   Ravens last night. Yamon Figurs and the special teams led the way to victory. However, the offense, especially the QBs were not impressive. Kyle was Kyle, ruining an otherwise strong effort with 2 interceptions.Flacco’s debut was fair at best, which is easy to define the great mistake of Billick’s Ravens in starting rookie QB Boller. Ray Rice was just OK in his debut. On defense Justin Bannan, and Fabian … Read More »
