History lesson: Albany has never played in the Semifinals, let alone won a title. Maryland under coach John Tillman, has qualified for championship weekend five of the last six years. The Terps haven’t won the NCAA title since 1975, going 0-9 in championship games since. Maryland defeated Albany 12-11 this season on April 12.
Stat that matters: Albany’s analytics are spectacular. They lead the country in scoring offense, assists per game, man-down defense, and are second in face-off winning percentage.
O’s seem to be in free fall losing another 1 run game to the Tigers. Dylan Bundy just didn’t have it. Good to see Crush back in form as he hit his 9th HR.
Harry Kane scored 4 goals against his former squad–Leicester in a 6-1 romping of last year’s champs by Tottenham. Kane has taken a 2 goal lead at 26 in his 2nd straight quest for the Golden Boot.

“He wouldn’t have been able to do it now,” Abdul-Jabbar said Monday in an interview at … Read More »
“Flying to Hartford for studio work at ESPN on Saturday, BWI was jammed. Got a good seat with my Southwest status, A-16, aka first class on a subway, but the flight didn’t have WIFI. That’s unbelievable. Fortunately, I’ve got Maryland’s notes and peruse through the archival portion. Paging through memories. Goalie Jimmy Beardmore went 12-1 in 1987 with a .698 save percentage and scooped up 72 groundballs. Beardy was one of a kind, a complete showstopper. I didn’t realize that … Read More »
