Yes, the Orioles lost today (Sunday 8-2-09) 18-10. Just couldn’t get that last touchdown and the “A.F.L.” 2 pt. conversion to put the game in o.t. Sad isn’t it? And the O’s are 4-12 since the All Star break. And even those who agreed or disagreed with the Sherrill trade can’t even say if the former O’s closer was here he would have saved the game because since the “Brim Reaper” has been traded there has not been a chance for a save … Read More »
Well thats 2 games in a row the loss of George Sherrill was no factor. The Birds had 10 baserunners but no runs as untimely hitting was their achilles again. Red Sox nation was in full force as Camden Yards was SOLD OUT.

It’s official the freefall has begun. As the trade deadline approaches the only Oriole where there is any interest is George Sherrill. The Birds are only looking for 3rd baseprospects. Seems to me like George has about 2 days left as an Oriole. Has anyone seen Luke Scott’s bat–going back to last week’s Monday Yankee game , Luke is 1-19. Freddy predicted Luke’s collapse. Adam Jones continues his Home Run tear , hitting #16 lat night.
This lefty reliever is the guy everyone wants. Florida is in desparate need of a stopper and Sherrill fills the bill.
If I were Dave Trembley I would do the following :
Demand as much pitching help as he can get. The future is now.
Put on the brakes on the team’s baserunning. The O’s have run themselves out of many games.
KEEP GEORGE SHERRILL ON THE TEAM. Do not let this guy go.
Trembley must not be a part of another August September swoon!!!
Where do the O’s go from here. Speculation will run rampant over the next few weeks. Salazar, Pie, Sherrill, are they on the block? Will we soon see Tillman pitching? Will the lack of baseball fundamentals displayed by the team lead to the demise of Trembley? Will the O’s for once not play el foldo in August and September? Will the farce of competition continue and Roy Halladay become a Red Sox? Stay tuned!!!
Can we all see some light at the end of the tunnel. There is nothing like a 5 game winning streak to awaken sleeping fans. I like the tweaking of the lineup and substitutions Trembley is making. Everyone seems to be participating in the resurgence of this team. Now if we could play the NL East every day. Brian Roberts seems to be popping out of his lathargic hitting and fielding streak. Jeremy Guthrie pitched like the #1 starter he … Read More »
From the mid 80’s until the day Andy MacPhail was hired the Baltimore Orioles were one of the most dysfunctional franchises in sports. But for the first time in many years Orioles fans have something to look forward to. The farm system which has been ignored ever since Jerry Hoffberger sold the team in 1979 is now producing a good number of quality prospects, particularly on the mound. This year still figures to be disappointing in the win-loss column but … Read More »
We are 8 games into the season and the bullpen is wearing down already. Adam Jones slammed a 2 run Homer in the 10th and was backed up with a 2 run double by Luke Scott which was needed to defeat Texas agains. the O’s are now 6-2.
