Katie O’Donnell did everything she could to get that tying goal, but truth be told the USA was lucky not to lose 5-0. Somehow I really believe Missy would make a far superior coach for this team.
GREENSBORO, N.C. – Maryland field hockey standout Katie O’Donnell is the recipient of the Mary Garber Award, given to the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Female Athlete of the Year. The women’s golf team repeated as winners and the men’s tennis team won for the first time in four years, as both teams were honored Sunday at the President’s Cup Brunch held at the Riggs Alumni Center The women’s golf team earned a combined GPA of 3.29, earning the honor for the second consecutive year. It edged women’s tennis (3.26) and gymnastics (3.15) for the award.

Katie O’Donnell of the national champion Maryland field hockey team has been selected as the 2010 NFHCA Division I National Player of the Year. She was also named a nominee for the 2010 Honda Sports Award Tuesday. O’Donnell won the 2009 Honda Sports Award.
