Empty–that’s the feeling I have now. One would think that eventually in one of these put up or shut up games the Terrapins would hit a hot streak, but not tonight. It seems the game was a microcosm of a losing Terrapin effort. Jordan strong as ever with 16 points and 16 rebounds but weak at the line 2-10. Dino steady as he has been all year. In order to win we needed that 3 rd component –another scoring effort. … Read More »
In a year of getting chances to prove itself the Terps get one more Friday night. The Terrapins had Duke on the ropes at Durham and then only a miraculous game from Kyle Singler saved the Blue Devils at College Park. Maryland is a caged lion backed into the corner of the cage. Stay with the Devils . Don’t have to mount a crazy rally. Cliff Tucker come alive it’s your redemption chance. One game, one win can wash away … Read More »
Maryland’s Jordan Williams has been selected to the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Basketball first team, while Terrell Stoglin is an All-Freshman selection. The All-ACC teams were announced Monday following a vote of 75 members of the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association. Williams received the second-most points (210) of any player, behind Duke’s Nolan Smith, who was the lone unanimous pick. A sophomore, Williams is the only underclassman on the first-team; Smith, Malcolm Delaney of Virginia Tech and Kyle Singler of Duke are seniors, … Read More »
Kyle Singler was too much for the Terps tonight. It’s funny but until Duke made its title run Singler was virtually not anywhere to be seen in the mock drafts. But now, with another year under his belt Kyle’s stock is through the roof. Again the bench for Duke did us in. Dawkins and Curry were a combined6-12 with 5-9 from the 3 point line. Overall Duke was 10-23 from the three line.
Maryland again seemed to only score from … Read More »
The Terps exploded after the start of the 2nd half to a 38-32 lead but after Coach K tongue lashing to the Blue Devils , Duke stormed back and dominated the rest of the game. Little used sub, Tyler Thornton came off the bench for Duke with 3 steals, took 2 charges and provided much needed energy to the #1 team in the land. Jordan was his usual excellent self tonight nailing his 9th double double in a row–with 23 … Read More »
This is a tough one Sunday night. The Terps will have at point guard most of the night– one of 2 freshman, PeShon or Terrell. This is a tall task for any player let alone a freshman. Here are some things that must happen for the Terps to be competitive:
Jordan must stay out of foul trouble. Coach K will be throwing all his bigs at him. Dino must hit his little jumper to keep some of the pressure off … Read More »
Kyle Singler is back next year for the Blue Devils. After his performance in the Championship game his stock had risen to the point where he might have been a lottery pick. Let’s not forget, he was inconsistent for much of the tear and next year he will play in the shadow of Freshman Kyrie Irving and returning … Read More »
Absolutely crazy that one college team could have 5 first round NBA picks. But John Wall, Demarcus Cousind, Patrick Patterson, Eric Bledsoe and Daniel Ortonare all projected 1st round picks. Some good news for the Terps—Singler’s play in the tourney has elevated him into 1st round status which means it will probably be Bye Bye Coach K for him.
1) The concussion Matt Howard had on Saturday had to effect the 5 snowbirds he missed. After watching him intently, he is one heck of a ballplayer.
2) Lance Thomas committed a horrible flagrant foul yet none of the talking heads disagreed with the call.
3) Coach Stevens—that was the best play you could come with … Read More »
Wow, If I can see it, imagine how Gary feels. Northern Iowa and Ali F faded into oblivion tonight. What an easy trip for MSU, even though the Spartans trailed by 7 at half. Tennessee–Ohio State were both pathetic and now one will be probably be in the Final Four. This is hard to take. Of course, Duke … Read More »
