Gilbert played well tonight until crunch time. Two missed free throws by Stevenson followed by 2 missed driving shots by Gil led to a defeat at the hands of DWade and the Heat.
The Tar Heels shut out the Ladt terps tonight 3-0 thus ending the Terrapins’ regular season at 12-5-2. Maryland will now have to wait to find out if it’s selected to the 2009 NCAA tournament. The Terps were 20th in the final regular season RPI and look to be on solid ground to make their first tournament appearance since 2004. The Bronx Bombers win their first World Series since 2000, and it solid fashion, winning with enough starting pitching and key relief work. Their offense, which is what they were known for coming into the series, was good, but the men on the mound were better. Congratulations to the New York Yankees for the win.

The Yankees will end the World Series tinight. Chase Utley might hit another homer but the Yankees will get to Pedro early , mainly by elevating his pitch count. Pedro is good for only 75-80 pitches and that’s with more rest then he will have had tomorrow night. Arod will end this game early and maybe Tex will finally contribute. Johnny Damon will be MVP.
