First impressions to even novice fans seem to have some extra meaning. Two years ago I ventured to Calvert Hall on Super Bowl Sunday to watch Braxton Dupree, who had just committed to Maryland. At that time the jury was out on Braxton. He had been injured I believe and was not at 100%. A good kid but one who needed more seasoning to prepare for the ACC. On the other hand the second I watched Sean Mosley, I knew … Read More »
I will tell you what is inexcusable. Saturday night in the bottom of the 7th with the score tied at 4 (after blowing a 4-0 lead), Nick Markakis and Brian Roberts could not decide who should catch an easy pop up. A simple “I’ve got it” by one of them would have done the job. It is incredible that this could happen on a major league level and has to have Trembley pulling the hair out of this head. The … Read More »
Tiger Woods overcame a 62 by Hunter Mahan to win his own invitational by 1 shot, as he prepares for the British Open in Turnberry, Scotland in 2 weeks. Elsewhere in golf, Captain Marc Komins led his team of Arnold Frank, Ed Mishner, and Ron Schuster to a playoff victory in The Bernard Robbins Classic at Woodholme in Baltimore.
I would like to see Baez traded. I think Huff will get traded. If he does get traded Salazar and Wigginton would split time playing first. If Berken doesn’t have a real good start next time out I would think Tillman will come up and Berken would go to the bullpen if the O’s trade a pitcher like Baez or going back to Norfolk to start. Hill is the next pitcher on the “what to do” with him list. I would guess when Isturiz comes back he’ll … Read More »
Terrapintimes.com just reported that Kentucky transfer matt Pilgrim has chosen Oklahoma State over Maryland and Memphis. At least it was quick. Pilgrim was literally cut from the Kentucky squad by Calipari. No big deal, time to move on!!!
When was the last time Artest realy went nuts? Been quite awhile! To me it’s a great signing. here’s a guy who for the most part has settled down and stopped acting like a wacko and plays ball. He is one of the league best lockdown defenders, scores points, hits the 3 and plays hard. The Lakers are looking to win now and this helps their team. The Wizards aren’t going to compete for a championship this year and they … Read More »
Phil Ivy , Phil Hellmuth, Jr, and Jeff Lisandro lead a smaller field into the Main Event that began on Friday. Lisandro has been the hottest player in the month long event at the Rio, winning 3 Bracelets (tournaments) however all in the stud discipline.
I know Artest is a great defenseman. I Know he carried the Rockets on his back. But adding a time bomb like Artest to a Championship team? WHY? What is Jackson thinking. Trevor Ariza was a key ingredient to the title run and now he is gone. Apparently its all about salary cap problems.Good luck repeating, Kobe. By the way with all the free agent signings in the NBA, do you notice you never hear the name of the Wizards … Read More »
The Circus Side Show better known as Kentucky Wildcat Basketball, John Calipari style, continues it slick, slimy route. Coach Cal faced with an overload of players has cut Matt Pilgrim a transfer from Hampton. This kid can play from what we have heard from terrapintimes.com. He has narrowed his list to 3 schools: Maryland, Oklahoma State, and of course Memphis. Of course Calipari’s guilt for destroying the Memphis program has caused him to try to push the kid to the … Read More »
Buster Olneys reports “The most intense bidding of the winter will not be over Matt Holliday or Jason Bay. It will not be John Lackey who is going to have the most bidders frothing after him. No, it will be Aroldis Chapman, the 21-year-old pitcher who reportedly defected from Cubawhile traveling with the national team in the Netherlands. To put his talent in perspective: Some evaluators view Chapman as a left-handed Stephen Strasburg. “He’s pretty special,” said one official. He has a fastball … Read More »
