The Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame (WBHOF) announced on Saturday that former University of Maryland head coach Chris Weller will be a part of the six-member Class of 2010. Weller will become the first Terrapin nducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame, which was founded in 1999. COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland landed Kyle Spencer, Baylor’s assistant director of tennis and the reigning national assistant coach of the year, to lead its men’s tennis program. Spencer, who has also coached at the professional level and played in the Olympics, was hired Tuesday as Maryland’s head men’s tennis coach. The one thing that has set Athletic Director Debbie Yow’s career at the top of the NCAA is her ability to find the right hires for the University. Recently she reeled in Kerry McCoy from Stanford and now McCoy has the Terps as one of the top Wrestling programs in the country. According to terrapintimes.com, Terry Rupp will not be back at the helm of Maryland Baseball in 2009. Most of Debbie Yow’s latest hirings have turned previously dormant programs around so I am anxious to see who she selects. The Terps finished 27-27 in 2009.

The news improved greatly in College Park as much sought after QB Danny O’Brienhopped on board the Terrapin football bandwagon yesterday. Danny, 6″4″ 210 lb QB runs the 40 in 4.6 nad I have seen video of him hitting receivers at all distances.
