Memo-30 Gary ‘s Post Game Press Conference

This one really hurts. I journeyed up to Chesnut Hill todayand suffered through another nip and tuck battle that the Terps barely lost.

Some of the bad points:

Maryland had no answer for Reggie jackson who finished with 31 points on 12-16 shooting, including 1 of 5 threes very late in the game that served as the dagger.

The Terps fall to 5-5 in the conference in a game that was perceived … Read More »

Post Game Report –Excuse the Lighting

27 Assists, 7 Turnovers, 9 steals—–This is what PeShon triggered today. The Terrapins though playing a weak Demon Deacon team, looked better then they have all year. PeShon brings a toughness to this team that resonated throughout the team. Passing was better, better 3 oint looks, better effort across the board. You had a ense the game was in PeShon’s hands as he … Read More »

Kyle Singler was too much for the Terps tonight. It’s funny but until Duke made its title run Singler was virtually not anywhere to be seen in the mock drafts. But now, with another year under his belt Kyle’s stock is through the roof. Again the bench for Duke did us in. Dawkins and Curry were a combined6-12 with 5-9 from the 3 point line. Overall Duke was 10-23 from the three line.

Maryland again seemed to only score from … Read More »

It’s good to be back in the win column but I assure you it took a heackuva effort to complte the task. Afterward Gary was extremely pleased with the play of his Seniors, as Adrian, Cliff and Dino played excellent games. Some thoughts on a tough ACC battle:

Gary post game:”I thought our offense was as efficient as it’s been in a while. Clemson is a team that has been winning, and you can tell by the way they play. … Read More »

Look, it’s tough to look great against such a bad team as Wake Forest. But the bottom line is that Maryland desparately needed a win and they won relatively easy. Let’s look at the highs and lows of the win.

Game in , game out Dino Gregory is providing tremendous energy. Whereas originally his presence in the starting lineup might have been questioned, it’s obvious on this team that is exactly where he belongs. as Wake bit into the l;ead … Read More »

The Terps exploded after the start of the 2nd half to a 38-32 lead but after Coach K tongue lashing to the Blue Devils , Duke stormed back and dominated the rest of the game. Little used sub, Tyler Thornton came off the bench for Duke with 3 steals, took 2 charges and provided much needed energy to the #1 team in the land. Jordan was his usual excellent self tonight nailing his 9th double double in a row–with 23 … Read More »

This is a tough one Sunday night. The Terps will have at point guard most of the night– one of 2 freshman, PeShon or Terrell. This is a tall task for any player let alone a freshman. Here are some things that must happen for the Terps to be competitive:

Jordan must stay out of foul trouble. Coach K will be throwing all his bigs at him. Dino must hit his little jumper to keep some of the pressure off … Read More »

It was great to cover a game for Maryland last night after the week of Coaching conjecture. The Men’s bball team responded with a crushing defeat of the Highlanders from New Jersey. Maryland was coming off a 10 day break after it’s opening ACC loss to BC.  Gary place Pe”shon in the starting lineup giving Cliff Tucker a seat on the bench for but a few minutes. Gary … Read More »
