Pressboxonline.com reports tonight that Randy Shannon could be close to becoming the Terrapin Defensive Coordinator. Though Randy was dismissed from the U, there is no doubt he was a tremendous recruiter in the Miami area. He would be a TREMENDOUS addition to Randy Edsall’s staff. UCLA offered the DC position to Shannon but Shannon deferred his decision to talk to the Terps. More tomorrow night on Terp Talk.
Head coach Sasho Cirovski has added five student-athletes to his 19th signing class at Maryland, the program announced Tuesday. Kyle Roach and Alex Shinsky are already on campus as spring enrollees after graduating from high school a semester early. This is a game in an ACC break period for the Terps when there is a week’s gap between games. Longwood is led by junior Antwan Carter, who is 6-foot-6 and listed as a center. Carter has 11 double-doubles this season and most recently had 29 points and 11 rebounds in a 65-64 loss at NJIT. Scrimmages are scrimmages but 3 Terps stood out this weekend at Drexel and Penn ; Shane Hall, Jake Bernhardt and Curtis Holmes. Hall a fourth-year defender who plays with a ton of passion and energy has emerged as a viable fourth defender.
